Layup and a laser

Hello Friends,
Have you ever gone out to play a round with the crew and completely botched your first throw off the tee? Smack the first tree? Thrown a roller - not on purpose?
For our group of friends, this is usually followed by someone suggesting "So.. Doubles?" and on the incredibly rare occasion (just a little sarcasm) where the first two people both botch their first throws, sometimes we will even toss out a "So... Triples?". New designs in the store if you have those days too.
One of the best things about playing best disc doubles is the frequency of what we call a "layup and a laser" situation. This is when you are close enough to shoot at the basket but not close enough to do so in a non-risky way. One person lays up while the other throws the dagger at the basket. Especially happy with this shirt concept in the store.
Lastly, I'd like to share my experience with Remix Discs. They are mostly sold on Amazon and were not PDGA approved until mid-this year (2023). It's been speculated that these discs are existing molds by other manufacturers but don't have the usual stamp and often have imperfections in the plastic. I got the 3 disc and bag combo (link here: https://amzn.to/3LMXhHN - Commissions earned from link) and was pleasantly surprised with the discs. My quick thoughts on the discs here:
Eldritch Putter (Mint Discs Bullet): As someone who already has a couple Bullet putters, it looks identical. I like low-profile straight putters with minimal or no bead.
Battleship Midrange (Mint Discs Bobcat): I already bagged a Bobcat when I got this disc so it didn't replace it, but it's nice having a cheap backup. This disc can handle solid power on my forehand and stay straight with a reliable fade as it slows.
Spartan Driver (Thought Space Mantra): This disc was a revelation for my bag. It's now my flippable throwaway disc I keep in my bag.
The bag itself, while nothing special, is a nice extra. I keep it stocked with discs if I play with a beginner who doesn't have their own discs. It doesn't keep the discs upright or separate them well, but for the price, I love the disc and bag combos for Remix.
